Brightwood is an all new,
natural light photo studio rental house
The location in American Fork is an old vintage two story house we have renovated into five separate rental units.
Each unit is unique, with different lighting, arrangement, design and style.
Q’s and A’s
Where are you located?
We are a grey and white, two-story, gardened building centrally located on Main St. and 300 East in American Fork, on the Northwest corner. You can see our new, cute sign on the lawn, located on the south side of the building.
Do you have a Hair and Makeup space?
We do have a salon station available for free! The room only allows space for one station, but if it is available during your rental, you are free to use it! You can find it through the north parking lot entrance, and just on the right.
Where do I park?
There is ample parking! We have a small parking lot on the north side of the building; if it is full, there is ample parking on both 300 East and Main Street in front of the studio.
Can we bring our dog or cat into the studio?
We do not allow any pets into the studio except for service animals. You must notify us at least 24 hours in advance if your client needs to bring their service animal. Any unauthorized pets seen on cameras will result in a $250 minimum fee charged to your card on file. If you have a special case you’d like to request, please just contact us directly!
How large is each Rental?
The five studios vary in shape and size. Our smallest, the Nook, is 100 square feet, and the largest is the Conservatory, with a 145 square foot room, combined with a 200 square foot room. The Gable is 155 square feet, the Solarium is 195 square feet, and the Attic has two small rooms, one at 140 and one at 120 square feet. You can find more detailed info for each unit by following the links on the Rentals page.
I think I left some personal items at the studio! Do you have xyz?!
We have a lost and found in our office where we collect items if anything is found at the end of the day! Please contact us by email or Instagram DM as soon as possible if you think you may have left something behind, and we can check for you. As there may be many people in your rental after you, please double-check before leaving. We cannot guarantee items will be turned in (but most people are gracious enough to do that!) On that note, if you see anything left by others, please take it to the Salon table downstairs. We throw away or donate all unclaimed items after one month.
Do you provide lighting?
We are a natural light studio. We do not provide any additional lighting, but you are welcome to bring your own lighting setup if desired. Each rental has several windows and provides great natural light. You can read more about the directions the windows face for each rental on the Rentals page. We are also working to provide add-on lighting options you can rent, more on that soon!
Do you provide furniture/decor/props to use?
Each studio rental is fully furnished with multiple furniture options! You can read more about each rental space and what items are in each here. You are welcome to rearrange and set up the rooms however you like for your session! We just ask that you put everything back how you found it, and please take good care of our items. If you’d like to move a heavy item such as a couch, bed, or mirror, ALWAYS use two people to lift the item rather than drag it across the floor, and please be cautious when children are around.
What is the best time to photograph in the studio?
We are working on creating light tracking information for each studio that shows lighting at different times of day! In the meantime, you can find window and lighting info on the Rentals page or contact us directly we would LOVE to send you shots of different times for the studio you’re interested in.
How much does it cost to rent the studio?
We have multiple options for renting the studio. From hourly rentals to full-day rentals. To see pricing options, visit our Booking Page.
How does the booking process work?
Head over to our availability calendar to see what we have open and to book your time slot. We require the entire rental fee up front to secure your spot. It is non-refundable and non-transferable, so please make sure you are booking the correct date, time, and rental suite before submitting!
What if I go over on my time slot?
We book rentals back to back, and there often is not a buffer in between photographers. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you do not go over your allotted time. If you would like to add more time during the session, you can check with us to see if it’s an option to extend or not. If you go past your time slot, we will charge a $100 fee. We do have cameras in the hallways and exterior of the building, and can see when you check in and out - please be respectful of your rented times! If you book a 1-hour spot at 9 AM, you must be cleaned up and walking out the door by 10 am at the latest. We are not responsible if you or your client is late!
Do you allow workshops or styled shoots?
We do! Please inquire through our contact form for special rental rates for these types of rentals.
Is the studio wheelchair accessible?
We are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. There is one small step to enter the Solarium, the Nook, and the Conservatory, all located downstairs. The second-floor units are up a stairway.
Can we bring glitter, confetti, birthday cakes, and other messy props of our own?
We ask that you do not bring food or drink (besides water) into the studio, and the use of confetti, glitter, open flames, or anything else that is potentially messy or dangerous is not allowed. The ONE exception to this rule is in The Conservatory rental - we will allow cake smashes, LARGE confetti, and other easily cleanable items - but you must clean up after yourself by disposing of all trash, vacuuming, and mopping as necessary. The studio should look exactly as you found it when you leave! If you have any questions about bringing a specific item, please reach out to us here.
